About the Band

The Riverton Jazz Band, directed by Lawrence Price, is staffed by musicians who love playing and sharing big band music with the community.  This volunteer organization, started in 2005, plays a variety of swing, jazz, Latin, and Big Band music for civic and charity events, business functions, churches, weddings and parties along the Wasatch front.

Meet the Director
Lawrence D. Price

Our director Lawrence D. Price, has multiple degrees from Juilliard School of Music and did postgraduate studies in Music Education at Queens College and Conducting at Florida Atlantic University. He is a retired US Air Force Bandsman who performed with many musical groups throughout the United States, Europe, and the Middle East during his 23 year military career. He was the Director of the Jazz Band and Concert Band at the Aaron Copland Music & Arts Program in New York.  With all of this experience, he brings an ear for detail and high musical standards, while being personable, encouraging, and community oriented. He enjoys sharing a love for fabulous jazz band tunes and music with the city of Riverton and the surrounding area.
